Team Agreements and Psychological Safety
Do you have Team Agreements? Do they make an active difference in how your team works together?
Over the last few months, we have been exploring the importance of psychological safety in teams, and believe that the active use of Team Agreements are the first step towards greater psychological safety in a team. This means feeling safe to be yourself and admit mistakes without fear of being blamed.
There are some excellent resources, by Amy Edmonson and others, and attached is one of my favourites. We have been supporting leaders to rate themselves on how well they are doing in each of these areas (this process is called Confirmation Practice) and setting themselves a goal to improve in the area that they want to focus on.
If you want to know more about team agreements, ways they can be implemented and even introduced in recruitment, please listen to this short podcast.
What we have been learning – free webinar series
Six months ago I went for a walk with my work colleague Martin. We were talking about Wellbeing Teams, and everything that we had learned from working as a provider delivering care in people’s homes and connecting them with their community. He invited me to do a series of webinars to share what we have learned in enough detail that people could do something different because of it.
I love a challenge like that! So here is the series of webinars, and we would love it if you wanted to join us for any or all of them.
1. 3rd October 2024 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can assessment feel like a conversation?
2. 7th November 2024 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can we practically deliver on outcomes using The Support Sequence?
3. 11th December 2024 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can we take stock and move forward using Person centred Reviews?
4. 9th January 2025 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can we recruit for values?
5. 6th February 2025 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can we retain team members and support them to thrive?
6. 6th March 2025 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm How can we create compassionate workplaces?

Working on two new resources
Finally, I was recently asked where you could get started if you wanted to develop a one-page profile or Team Agreements.
I realised that although we have loads and loads of resources on the website, there is not one simple ‘how to guide’.
This is what I am working on at the moment and will have them ready in November/early December.
If you have 30 minutes to spare and want to read a draft and give me feedback on either the one for One-Page Profiles or the Team Agreement one, please email me (helen@helensandersonassociates.co.uk) and I will get you the link to the draft at the end of October.
